Stovetop Glass Gem Popcorn

We are so excited that the Glass Gem corn crop was successful this year! Every year, farmers face a variety of challenges concerning corn and this year our biggest struggle once again was hogs. Thankfully, the hogs sparred the Glass Gem corn and we were able to provide a small batch for y’all. Our popcorn is non-GMO pesticide free and straight from our farm to your kitchen.


Stovetop Glass Gem Popcorn


  • 3 tablespoons of oil (coconut oil or ghee)

  • 1/3 cup of Glass Gem popcorn

  • Butter (optional)

  • Salt (optional)


  1. Heat oil (we prefer coconut oil) in a large shallow pan (with matching lid) over high heat.

  2. Put 2 or 3 kernels in oil, cover and wait for them to pop.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat and take out popped kernels from pan.

  4. Add in remaining kernels, cover, and let sit (off the heat) for 1 minute.

  5. Return the pan to high heat, shaking the pan every so often to coat the kernels in oil.

  6. Let the kernels pop until the popping nearly stops just as it does in the microwave version.

  7. Remove the pan from the heat and keep the lid on! There are always a few kernels that still pop and you don’t want them to pop popcorn all over your kitchen with the lid off.

  8. Transfer popcorn to bowl and add butter, salt or other seasoning to your taste.

  9. Enjoy and share a picture of your creation with us!
